1. About these terms
CleanRoutePro Exchange (“Exchange”) is run by CleanRoutePro Ltd (company number 17283328), 66 Paul Street, Hackney, London, EC2A 4NA. Contact: hello@cleanroutepro.net. Exchange lets members list, buy and sell single jobs, rounds, work vehicles, machines, tools and equipment used in exterior cleaning. CleanRoutePro provides the platform. It is not the buyer or seller in any sale.
2. Who can use Exchange
- Every buyer and seller must sign up to Stripe, which carries out its KYC security checks on everyone, before using Exchange.
- Everyone must read and accept these terms before using Exchange.
- Each member’s time on Exchange, subscription level, Founder Member status and feedback are shown to other members.
3. What can be listed
- Single jobs and rounds. Customers with a red (suspended) or archived status cannot be listed. The system refuses them automatically when they are placed in the digital box, and no one at CleanRoutePro sees which customers were refused.
- Work vehicles only, new or used. Private vehicles cannot be listed.
- Machines, tools and equipment, including water-softening equipment.
- Listings must be accurate and honest. Vehicle listings may include up to 6 photos of the vehicle and 2 of its documents, service history or keys.
- CleanRoutePro carries out checks on listings. Any listing that isn’t correct will be taken down, and the seller will be given the chance to rewrite it.
4. Fees (all plus local taxes)
- Single job: the seller pays to post it and the buyer pays to buy it. £1.50 each for subscribers of 6 months or more; £5 each for subscribers under 6 months and for Verified Exchange Users.
- Round: the seller pays to post it and the buyer pays to buy it. £50 each for subscribers of 6 months or more; £75 each for subscribers under 6 months and for Verified Exchange Users.
- Vehicle listing: £12.50 for 6 weeks; Featured listing £15 for 6 weeks.
- Machine or tool listing: £10 for 6 weeks; free when included with a round.
- Buyers pay no fee to buy vehicles, machines, tools or equipment. Only sellers pay listing fees for these.
5. Single jobs and rounds
- To sell, the seller places the job or round into a digital box until it is sold. The seller can keep servicing those customers while it is listed.
- While a job or round is in a digital box, it cannot be offered to anyone else until it is sold, deleted or withdrawn from listing.
- Payment must be made through Exchange, using Stripe.
- Once Stripe confirms payment, the job or round transfers to the buyer automatically. CleanRoutePro acts only as a connecting tunnel for the transfer and never sees any of the data.
- Buyer Protection Period: Stripe delays payment to the seller for up to 7 days, or until the buyer confirms the jobs and raises no complaint. The money stays in the seller’s own Stripe account throughout. CleanRoutePro never holds it.
- Sellers must tell their customers about the sale using the template provided. Their customers’ terms must already allow their details to be transferred if the business or round is sold.
Complaints during the Buyer Protection Period
- The digital box stays in place for the whole Buyer Protection Period. If a complaint is raised, the digital box stays in place, and the payment stays held, until all checks are made and CleanRoutePro has reached a decision.
- The digital box keeps a locked copy of the job or round exactly as sold. Neither the buyer nor the seller can see the locked copy.
- During this time the buyer can view the customer details in their own dashboard but cannot change them until the Buyer Protection Period ends or any complaint is settled. Once the job or round has transferred, the seller cannot see it unless it is returned to them after an upheld complaint.
- When a sale goes through, the system automatically saves a sale record: the date and how many of the sold customers were Green, Blue or Amber. It holds no names or addresses. CleanRoutePro looks only at that sale record, together with evidence from both sides, when deciding a complaint.
- CleanRoutePro aims to decide every complaint within 10 working days. Every decision is confirmed by a member of CleanRoutePro staff.
- By using Exchange, buyers and sellers agree that CleanRoutePro may decide complaints and instruct Stripe to refund the buyer from the seller’s held payment.
If a complaint is upheld
- The buyer receives a full refund.
- In this order: the job or round is returned to the seller in full from the locked copy, it is deleted from the buyer’s dashboard, and then the refund is issued back to the buyer’s original payment method. Refunds usually reach the buyer within 5 to 10 working days.
- The seller is responsible for all charges made by Stripe on the sale, including Stripe’s processing fees, which Stripe does not return. Any shortfall in the seller’s Stripe balance is recovered by Stripe from the seller.
False complaints and false sales
- CleanRoutePro keeps the Exchange fees already paid by both the buyer and the seller.
- Whoever made the false complaint or the false sale must also pay CleanRoutePro the Exchange fee paid by the other person. By using Exchange you agree that this can be charged automatically to your saved payment card. A receipt is sent.
- If the charge fails, Stripe will try again over 2 weeks.
- If it is still unpaid after 2 weeks, the member will be banned from CleanRoutePro, and the debt will be chased by letter, then through a debt collection agency or the small claims court. A County Court Judgment that is not paid within one month is entered on the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines, where credit reference agencies can see it.
After the Buyer Protection Period
- If no complaint is raised, the seller is paid when the Buyer Protection Period ends, the digital box and its locked copy are deleted, and the transfer is permanent.
- Any later claim is between the buyer and the seller under Stripe’s rules, for example a chargeback through the buyer’s own bank or card provider. Stripe is the payment processor, not CleanRoutePro.
- CleanRoutePro offers as much protection as it can and works to deter dishonest sellers and buyers, but, as far as the law allows, it is not responsible for the actions of members. Feedback and ratings are there so members can choose who they deal with.
Misuse of customer data
- A seller must not keep or use the details of customers they have sold. A buyer must not keep or use any copies of customer details after a refund.
- Keeping or using personal data without permission can be a criminal offence under the Data Protection Act 2018. CleanRoutePro will report it to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
6. Goods and vehicles from private sellers
- Payment is made directly between buyer and seller, not through Exchange. The Buyer Protection Period does not apply.
- Do not pay for a vehicle or large, expensive machinery until it has been collected or delivered.
- You may pay for postage or delivery upfront if the seller asks you to.
- Items sent by post or courier must use tracked delivery, and the seller must add the tracking number to the order.
- Do your own checks before you buy. Everyone on Exchange passes the same security checks, which helps, but it does not guarantee that dishonest people never get through.
- Ask the seller for a video tour of the vehicle or large machinery. A genuine seller will not find this a problem.
- Vehicle history checks are optional. Sellers must follow the vehicle sale laws in their own area.
7. Goods and vehicles from dealers and manufacturers
- The buyer pays upfront, under the dealer’s or manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.
- Any dispute is between the buyer and the dealer or manufacturer. CleanRoutePro does not get involved.
8. Order stages and feedback
- Each order moves through its stages: order confirmed, then dispatched or ready for collection, then delivered or collected.
- Feedback can only be left once an order is complete, and must be left within 14 days. Reminders are sent straight away and then every 3 days until feedback is left.
- Dealers and manufacturers may choose to send automatic positive feedback, in their own words, once payment is confirmed. Everyone else leaves feedback themselves.
- Feedback must be honest and based on the actual deal.
9. Keeping Exchange safe
- All conversations and agreements about a deal must stay on Exchange. Anyone who takes a deal off Exchange loses its protections.
- CleanRoutePro reduces the risk of dishonest members but cannot guarantee that every member is honest.
- Read our How to stay safe on Exchange page before buying or selling.
- CleanRoutePro may remove listings and suspend or ban members who break these terms.
- Members’ verified details may be shared with the authorities where the law requires it.
10. Changes to these terms
CleanRoutePro may change these terms, fees and services, giving the notice required by law.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
